Thanksgiving -- avec la famille Bonhomme

Le repas de Thanksgiving chez ma famille française! My host mom searched all across Rennes for a turkey and finally found one -- which my host dad is proudly holding in this picture. The meal was a huge success, and definitely an experience to remember!

11 filles et mon père d'accueil !

For my Thanksgiving feast I decided to Invite half American and half French friends. With a mix like this we spoke mostly French during the meal, with a little bit of english. The cooking process began Saturday morning when I woke up and it finished moments before we sat down. Thanks to everyone's help, we enjoyed an incredible meal all together.

Thanksgiving à la française

Ray, Grace, and I had a lovely thanksgiving dinner with our host families. Our host moms and us cooked the meal! We had a big turkey and lots of pie!

Thanksgiving chez la famille Le Gal-Trébert

After hurriedly bumbling around the kitchen for five hours or so–converting cups to milliliters and adding twice the necessary amount of butter to everything–I got to snap this picture of the cumulative meeting of cultures (complete with a baguette).

Thanksgiving chez les Auffrets

The highlight of my day: beheading chickens with my host mom.

Thanksgiving en musique avec la famille Lepain

After spending hours in the kitchen, we finally succeeded a wonderful dinner!! As always, the instruments came out. What could be more French Thanksgiving than an accordion and apple pie??
